Pittsburgh Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
Dennis Visco pitched a gem to help the Pittsburgh Industrials escape with a tight, 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Quakers in a low-scoring Divisional Round contest. The left-handed Visco threw 8.0 innings of 1-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Industrials on a day when their offense dried up. Pittsburgh now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.

Visco was in the zone all game. He frustrated Philadelphia hitters while giving the Industrials 8 innings of quality work. Visco threw 130 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 4 punchouts.

"Dennis gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Pittsburgh skipper Vincent Wicker.

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Quakers Stadium in Philadelphia.
