Explorers Suffer 5-3 Loss to Milwaukee
The performance of Dennis Adams proved critical in helping Milwaukee beat St. Louis, 5-3. The Dairymen right fielder was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. John Gannon was the winner. Over 8.1 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Dairymen, with only their 5th win in 20 games, have not had much to write home about in 1976.

There was more than one reason the Dairymen beat the Explorers, but Adams's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Adams told a Milwaukee News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
