Bulls Score Late, Clip Traders, 4-3
|
The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Independence Field, topping the Chicago Traders, 4-3. On the mound for Kansas City was left-hander Skip Carter. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Dennis Greenlee in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Bobby Peters took the loss. Bob Crosby finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Kansas City took a 4-3 lead on Larry Moses's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Moses hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Bobby Peters visibly frustrated.
After the game, Kansas City manager DD Martin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
After losing, Chicago is 14-7.
