Explorers Stumble, Losing to Burros, 6-1
St. Louis had no answer for Denver Burros hurler Keith Williams, who overwhelmed Explorers hitters as the Burros coasted to victory, 6-1. The triumph makes Denver 21-7, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 1977.

Guillaume Moret had a big bases-clearing double for the Burros in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Denver leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Bob Trout, who leads the NBL in wins with 4, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Burros ahead, 5-1.

Moret attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
