The Montreal Habitants racked up a win at LaSalle Stadium, bumping off the Toronto Hurons, 3-2. Bob Schar, who started for Montreal, pitched effectively for his team. Al Johns recorded the save, his 5th. After today's action, Montreal sits at 12-21; Toronto slips to 14-18.

Montreal first baseman Don Hill contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Habitants ahead, 3-1.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
