The Baltimore Lords rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Don Achber to a win, beating the Montreal Habitants, 4-2, at Seton Hill Stadium. Denny Boyd nailed down his 5th save. Baltimore's record now stands at 16-22, placing them 6th in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.

The Lords got a big at-bat from catcher Larry Merritt. For the game, Merritt went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Baltimore a 2-1 lead.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Merritt told the Baltimore Times.
