Habitants Come Back Late to Top Empires, 3-2
|
New York got a valiant performance from pitcher Nate Frampton, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montreal Habitants. Montreal won the game, 3-2. Frampton threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Montreal pitcher Al Johns got the win. He's now 3-0. Tom Duncan was tagged with the loss. The Habitants have now won 4 straight.
Tim Delaney came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Every loss hurts," said New York manager John Harris. "But this was a tough one."
