Industrials Edge Bluebirds, 4-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Brooklyn Bluebirds and Pittsburgh Industrials get after it.
Pittsburgh Industrials starter Ron Winder pitched well against the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Allegheny Field, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Winder got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 6 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The save went to Bob Cole, number 7 for him.
The Industrials got a big at-bat from second baseman Rob Isenbarger. For the game, Isenbarger went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Pittsburgh a 2-1 lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker. "The effort was great."
The second-place Industrials are now 23-18, the Bluebirds 17-25.
