Northmen Prevail, 3-1, Over Houston
|
In a tight tilt between the Twin Cities Northmen and the Houston Drillers, Jeff Jordan was the deciding factor. The Twin Cities left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Joe Gibson closed the game out for Twin Cities, earning his 5th save. Houston has now lost 4 in a row.
Steve Garcia had a big 2-run home run for the Northmen in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Twin Cities leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a sinker from Randy Robins, who finished 4th in the ABL in ERA with 2.42 in 1970, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Northmen ahead, 3-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Garcia told the Twin Cities Chronicle.
