The St. Louis Explorers beat the Cleveland Bobcats, 6-5, at Corps of Discovery Stadium. The win was due in part to shortstop Tom Guinn, who went 2-4 with a triple. He scored 3 runs. The win for the Explorers raised their record to 28-19.

The Explorers got a big hit from pinch hitter Bob Raab. In the bottom of the sixth, Raab smacked a 2-run double off Cleveland pitcher Bruce Elsner. It was his 1st double of the season. Suddenly, the Explorers were ahead, 6-5.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Raab said.
