The Detroit Wolverines got a superb performance from first baseman Troy Stallings, but the Montreal Habitants still won the game, 8-5. Stallings was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Mark Weeks snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits over 3 innings. He's now 3-0 on the season. The 4th-place Habitants are now 28-25, the Wolverines 27-24.

Oscar Corte went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI for Montreal. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Scott Litwak. It was his 47th hit of the season.

"We came out aggressive," said Habitants manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon. "We came out swinging the bats."
