Explorers Handed 5-1 Loss by Chicago

The Chicago Traders and St. Louis Explorers completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Chicago Traders picked up a win at Union Field, dropping the St. Louis Explorers, 5-1. Wes Stolz was the difference-maker. The winner was Stolz. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Dick Lott.
There was more than one reason the Traders beat the Explorers, but Stolz's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Stolz.
The setback makes St. Louis 27-26.
