Industrials Improve to 34-22 with 4-1 Win
At Allegheny Field, the New York Knickerbockers and Pittsburgh Industrials were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Pittsburgh starter Jerry Zaruba kept the New York offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Industrials to a 4-1 win. Zaruba got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run.

The Industrials had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the ninth. The score was 4-1, Pittsburgh. But New York, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, had mounted a threat. Steve Wells dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch sinker, Wells flied out.

The Industrials now have a mark of 34-22.
