Packers Sneak Past Explorers, 2-1
|
The Cincinnati Packers beat the St. Louis Explorers, 2-1. Cincinnati pitcher and Mexico City, Mexico, native Armando Estrada led the way. The Packers now own a record of 24-35.
Glenn Palmer was the walk-off hero for Cincinnati. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Packers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That's baseball," said St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
