Terriers Dump Los Angeles, 3-1, to Win 5th in a Row
|
The Boston Terriers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Alex Alonso, who kept Los Angeles hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Terriers win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Alonso, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. The last-place Terriers have won 5 straight games.
Boston took a 3-1 lead on Miguel Preciado's 14th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Preciado hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Los Angeles pitcher Phil Lester visibly frustrated.
Alonso said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
