Blockbusters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Quakers
|
The Philadelphia Quakers got a superb performance from pitcher Manny Salinas, but the Los Angeles Blockbusters still won the game, 3-2. Salinas threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loss makes Philadelphia 33-29.
The Blockbusters procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Nana Hubbard. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
