The New York Knickerbockers beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 10-2, at Blockbuster Stadium. Steve Wright, in particular, was impressive. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brian Williams earned the save, his 7th, for the Knickerbockers. Their 33-32 record puts the Knickerbockers 4th in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

With New York leading 7-2 in the top of the ninth, Wright came up to bat against Los Angeles pitcher Wayne Guilmette. Wright hit a slider to right for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Knickerbockers on top, 10-2.

"Not my idea of a good time," Los Angeles manager John Trausch said, when asked afterward about the game.
