The Twin Cities Northmen beat the Toronto Hurons by a score of 5-3. Twin Cities left fielder Greg Clement deserved the lion's share of the credit. Clement went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for the Northmen. Archie Makins notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Rick Lindstrom recorded the save, his 10th.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Rick Giardina had a game-changing hit. The Northmen catcher slammed a 2-run single off Alfonso Sosa, making the score 5-1, Twin Cities.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.

The Northmen now have a record of 32-36 with the win over Toronto.
