Blockbusters Best Dairymen in Pitching Duel
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters knocked off the Milwaukee Dairymen, 2-1, in National Baseball League action at Blockbuster Stadium. Los Angeles pitcher and GuamĂșchil, Mexico, native Dario Fontanez had an outstanding performance. Tom Benson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. The Blockbusters now own a record of 29-39.
Had Rich Pakula not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Pakula hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Blockbusters.
"Every loss stings," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley. "This one is no exception."
