Generals Drop Habitants, 5-1
|
The Atlanta Generals got a good effort from starter Bill Davis in defeating the Montreal Habitants at LaSalle Stadium. The final score was 5-1. The win has Atlanta at 28-41.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Roberto Palacios to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Generals on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Generals manager Philipe Yazzie, "I like our chances."
