Pobladores Deal Empires 3-0 Defeat

The New York Empires could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Danilo Molina into a win. Instead, the Los Angeles Pobladores prevailed, 3-0. Molina threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Reliever Pete Betzel picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Danilo Molina, who is tied for 6th in the ABL with a 7.0 K/9 rate, took the loss. The Empires, at 36-34, have lost 4 in a row.
Jerry Whitmire had a direct impact on the outcome. Whitmire contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.
Whitmire said his team "executed a good game plan."
