Los Angeles Blanks Kansas City Behind Fontanez
Sunday, April 16th , 1972
Dario Fontanez handcuffed the Kansas City Bulls at Independence Field, coming away with a 8-hit, complete game shutout.
"I had everything working for me out there," the Los Angeles Blockbusters right-hander said later. "I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted."
With his stuff working, Fontanez had little trouble with the Bulls and led the Blockbusters to victory, 5-0. He recorded 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in an impressive performance.
