Underwood Struts Stuff in Win Over Washington
Tuesday, June 15th , 1965
Bernie Underwood kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Kansas City Bulls were all smiles after winning 3-0 against the Washington Rough Riders at Monument Field today. The right-handed Underwood gave up no runs in his start, permitted 7 hits and had 6 strikeouts.

"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Underwood said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."

For this year Underwood has chalked up 3 wins and 2 losses in 8 starts with 47 strikeouts in 61 innings and a 2.21 ERA.
