Industrials Win, 6-0, as Visco Mystifies Philadelphia
Sunday, April 15th , 1973
The Philadelphia Quakers were almost helpless in their 6-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Industrials and hurler Dennis Visco. Visco kept the Quakers confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Visco," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 29-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Visco said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
