Dallas Blanks Pobladores, Gilmore at His Best
Sunday, May 23rd , 1971
Barry Gilmore bent a little, but he didn't break against the Los Angeles Pobladores. The Dallas Wranglers pitcher hurled a 3-hit, 5-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 3 walks and tallying 9 strikeouts.
"Barry is good at getting out of jams," Wranglers manager William Albrecht told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
This year, Gilmore has a 6-1 record with a 2.17 ERA in 10 starts.
