Wools Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games
Sunday, May 6th , 1973
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.

Larry Wools did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Monument Field. For the last 25 games in a row, the 24-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Washington Eagles beat the New York Knickerbockers, 5-0.

"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Wools told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Washington clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day."
Larry Wools singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.

This season in 30 games, Wools is batting .328 with 1 home run, 12 RBIs and has scored 23 times.
