Explorers, Trout Blank Los Angeles, 2-0
Tuesday, April 30th , 1974
In a seemingly effortless performance, Bob Trout of the St. Louis Explorers shot down the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 2-0, on 3 hits.
"Bob was just locating so well and using his pitches," St. Louis manager Ray Fleetwood said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Trout recorded 1 strikeout and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Los Angeles manager John Trausch said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
To date this season, Trout has compiled a 5-0 record with a 1.48 ERA in 5 starts.
