Mark Pike of the San Diego Captains toyed with the Kansas City Bulls, as he shut them out, 5-0, at San Diego Sporting Complex. He was almost untouchable, twirling a 4-hitter with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Pike said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."
This year, Pike has gone 5-3 with an ERA of 3.03 and has 37 strikeouts in 65.1 innings.
