Langham Sends Cincinnati Bats to Deep Freeze
Friday, May 10th , 1974
In a seemingly effortless performance, Bob Langham of the Denver Burros shot down the Cincinnati Packers, 3-0, on 6 hits.
"Bob was just locating so well and using his pitches," Denver manager Clark Anderson said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Langham recorded 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year in 5 starts, Langham has recorded 1 win and absorbed 2 losses. He has pitched 39 innings, allowed 41 hits, struck out 14 and has a 5.08 ERA.
