Crawford Whips Kansas City, 2-0
Saturday, May 11th , 1974
The Kansas City Bulls were almost helpless in their 2-0 loss to the Chicago Traders and hurler Skip Crawford. Crawford kept the Bulls confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Crawford," Kansas City manager DD Martin said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 27-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Crawford said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
For this year, Crawford has chalked up 4 wins and 2 losses in 7 starts with 39 strikeouts in 56 innings and a 2.73 ERA.
