Terriers Blank Empires, Jimenez Wins Tuesday, June 6th , 1972 The Boston Terriers did little to support starter Miguel Jimenez against the New York Empires, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Empires, striking out 3 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Jimenez allowed Boston to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said, 'Miguel, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Jimenez told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it." To date, Jimenez has a 1-0 mark in 1 starts with a 0.63 ERA. He has given up 14 hits in 28.2 innings, struck out 15 and issued 10 walks.
