Toronto's Joe Scott brought his best stuff to Dominion Field, shutting down and shutting out the New York Empires, 8-0. He racked up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 2 hits, and issued 1 walk on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," New York manager Dan Whiting said later. "Toronto could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
