Bargiel at His Best, Blanks Boston Wednesday, July 28th , 1976 In a remarkable performance, Atlanta Generals starter Ron Bargiel beat the Boston Terriers, 5-0, in an impressive 8-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Generals hurler finished with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Boston manager Phil Palapa said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." Bargiel has made 10 starts so far this year and put up a 4-3 won-lost record with a 2.96 ERA. In 67 innings he has allowed 59 hits, walked 25 and struck out 23.
