Fredrick Pitches 1-0 Shutout

Boston were shut out, 1-0, by John Fredrick and the Detroit Wolverines at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. The Terriers offered little resistance to Fredrick, who stopped them on 4 hits, fanned 4 and walked 0.
"It just felt right today," the right-handed Fredrick told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
Thus far this season, Fredrick has posted a 5-5 record, started 17 games, struck out 74 batters in 113.2 innings and compiled a 3.40 ERA.
