Drillers Listless in 8-0 Loss to Pobladores Sunday, July 9th , 1972 Phil Lester shut down the Houston Drillers, blanking them, 8-0, on 9 hits, ringing up 8 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Los Angeles Pobladores pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Lester said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
