In a seemingly effortless performance, Bill John of the Toronto Hurons shot down the Twin Cities Northmen, 3-0, on 4 hits.
"Bill was just locating so well and using his pitches," Toronto manager Jim Burns said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
John recorded 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
In the current season in 15 starts, Bill John has a record of 9-4 with 52 strikeouts in 110.2 innings and a 1.55 ERA.
