Bobcats Ahrens Blanks Quakers
Saturday, April 18th , 1964
Today was Fred Ahrens's turn in the rotation for the Cleveland Bobcats and he made the most of it, shutting out the Philadelphia Quakers on 5 hits.
The 32-year-old left-hander led the Bobcats to an easy 9-0 victory, allowing 4 walks and tallying 3 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said. "Ahrens certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
