Burros Flame Out Against Hartman, Quakers Sunday, July 23rd , 1972 Mel Hartman was impressive at Quakers Stadium in the 5-0 Philadelphia Quakers victory over the Denver Burros. The Philadelphia pitcher mystified the Burros in a strong performance, giving up 3 hits and totaling 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. "Mel had them chasing a lot of pitches and talking to themselves," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green. "It was something special to watch."
