Evert Hurls Blockbusters to Shutout Victory Sunday, September 29th , 1968 Mark Evert held the San Diego Captains to 6 hits and fashioned a fine 3-0 shutout at San Diego Sporting Complex today. Speaking after the game, Los Angeles Blockbusters manager John Trausch said "Evert had everything going for him today. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement. He was masterful." Evert rung up 4 strikeouts and surrendered 3 walks in the game. "We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," San Diego manager Joe Mack told reporters.
