Stambaugh Tosses 4-0 Shutout Against Baltimore
Monday, July 22nd , 1974
Tim Stambaugh was in a mood to talk following the San Francisco Seagulls contest against the Baltimore Lords, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Lords, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Stambaugh said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Baltimore on a 3-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 7 strikeouts.
Thus far this season, Stambaugh has posted a 13-4 record, started 21 games, struck out 90 batters in 161.1 innings and compiled a 2.01 ERA.
