Davis Tosses Shutout Against Toronto Sunday, July 17th , 1977 Bill Davis kept the Toronto Hurons hitters from doing much damage at Atlantic Station Field. Toronto could only muster 3 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Davis, who controlled them throughout the game. Atlanta won the contest, 6-0. Davis added 6 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Davis told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." Up to now Davis has compiled an ERA of 2.53 with a 7-5 mark over 21 starts.
