Hickman Twirls Bulls to Shutout Win
Monday, September 4th , 1967
Today was Charlie Hickman's turn in the rotation for the Kansas City Bulls and he made the most of it, shutting out the New York Knickerbockers on 5 hits.
The 32-year-old right-hander led the Bulls to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 3 walks and tallying 9 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," New York manager William Bowen said. "Hickman certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
This year Hickman has compiled a 11-9 record with a 2.79 ERA.
