Gutierrez Goes 5-for-5 Wednesday, July 21st , 1971 It was a sensational day at the plate for Angel Gutierrez as he led the charge to a nifty 11-9 win over the Lords. The Los Angeles left fielder was pure misery for the Baltimore pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Gutierrez put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Steve Read, manager for the Lords, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Angel Gutierrez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Denny Boyd in the 7th.
