Sokol Muzzles San Francisco Bats
Thursday, July 5th , 1973
In a seemingly effortless performance, Charlie Sokol of the Twin Cities Northmen shot down the San Francisco Seagulls, 3-0, on 4 hits.
"Charlie was just locating so well and using his pitches," Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Sokol recorded 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," San Francisco manager Al Borie said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
So far this season, Sokol has logged a 6-9 record with a 4.13 ERA. He has started 18 games, hurled 124.1 innings and registered 73 strikeouts and 57 walks.
