Frederick Struts Stuff in Win Over Cleveland
Tuesday, September 19th , 1967
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Ed Frederick of the Washington Eagles proved the point at Lakefront Stadium today, holding the Cleveland Bobcats to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Frederick made us look real bad today," Bobcats manager Daniel Mays said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Frederick had 5 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks as the Eagles took the 5-0 win.

This year Frederick has posted a 10-11 mark in 30 starts and has a 3.45 ERA.
