Heath Struts Stuff in Win Over Philadelphia
Sunday, August 24th , 1975
San Diego's Ray Heath brought his best stuff to San Diego Sporting Complex, shutting down and shutting out the Philadelphia Quakers, 3-0. He racked up 9 strikeouts, surrendered 5 hits, and issued 2 walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said later. "San Diego could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
This year, Heath has made 28 starts, thrown 194 innings, fanned 133 batters and walked 52. His won-lost record is 15-6 with a 3.02 ERA.
