Owen Tosses 1-0 Shutout
Sunday, September 10th , 1972
New York Knickerbockers pitcher Bruce Owen blanked the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 1-0, at Flatbush Park, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 2 walks and collecting 6 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Owen said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
This season, Owen has recorded no saves with a 3-1 record. He's made 34 relief appearances, tossed 61 innings while fanning 33 with a 2.07 ERA.
