Bryant Tosses Shutout Against Seattle
Friday, September 13th , 1974
In an outstanding mound performance, Detroit Wolverines starter Jim Bryant fired a complete-game shutout against the Seattle Emeralds at Wolverine Field.
Bryant was the key to the 3-0 Detroit win. The 31-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
To this point in the season Bryant has 12 wins and 9 losses and a 3.19 ERA.
