Wolverines Heading to League Championship Series Sunday, October 1st , 1972 By a score of 7-4, the Detroit Wolverines have sealed a victory in the Divisional Round over the Los Angeles Pobladores. "We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said right fielder Eddie Estrada of the Wolverines, who was named the series MVP. "The Pobladores knew how to battle and gave us a good test." The next test for Detroit will come in the League Championship Series, after winning this series 4-1. The Detroit Wolverines will play against the San Francisco Seagulls in the next round. San Francisco won their series against the Montreal Habitants 4 games to 1.
