Placeholder Fires Shutout in Buffalo Victory Friday, July 20th , 1962 Triple A Placeholder of the Buffalo Beavers toyed with the Des Moines Demons today, blanking them 5-0 at Buffalo NY minor league park. He was almost untouchable, baffling them on a 3-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. "I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Placeholder said in the clubhouse after the game.
