Placeholder Shines in 5-0 Gem Saturday, May 19th , 1962 The Rochester Red Wings met their match today in Syracuse hurler Triple A Placeholder. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 8-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Rochester skipper said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 5-0 victory, Placeholder whiffed 5 and gave up 1 walk. |
