The Knicks had experimented with a myriad of color combinations throughout their history, rarely sticking with one set for more than three years, and sometimes only one. This year they swapped out the orange they had been wearing since 1926 for gold, pairing it with the dark blue they had worn the past two seasons. Frequent alterations to their uniform design would continue, but the blue-and-gold-combo was, aside from a brief time in the 1950’s, here to stay.

The Industrials became the first team to use script lettering on their jerseys this season. The innovation was quick to catch on, and while never ubiquitous, almost every franchise has employed script lattering from time to time in the ensuing years.
